San Diego County has lots to offer to its residents during special events so it can be hard to decide what are the best options. So the Katie Hawkes Group would like to offer up some ideas of what we have found to be the most exciting and worthwhile experiences in the area.




“Annual Big Bay Boom July 4 Fireworks Show”
Location: Many locations around San Diego Bay
Time: 9:00 PM

Price: Free
Free and available for all! This is the largest firework display in the county! The fireworks can be seen from Shelter Island, Harbor Island, the Embarcadero area and Seaport Village/Coronado Landing. It’s simple to just park around the bay and enjoy the show! If you don’t want to worry about the parking this year either The Port of San Diego has set up free parking and a shuttle service to Harbor Island.


“Rancho Santa Fe’s Annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic”

Location: The Parks in Front of the Inn

16900-16948 Avenida De Acacias

Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92091

Time: 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm

Price: Free

Want to do something earlier before the big fireworks show? Then get ready for this all age fun! Don’t forget your chairs and blankets. There will be a concert that starts at 1:30 pm with music by the Time Holcombe’s Band. Food will be available from the RSF Golf Club and lots of activities for all ages!


“San Diego County Fair 4th of July Celebration”
Del Mar Fairgrounds –

2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard

Del Mar, CA
Time: Starts at 9:30 AM, Fireworks at 9:00 PM

Price: Entrance fee to Fair Grounds
Or keep your day simple by visiting the Del Mar Fair and enjoy a patriotic opening ceremony at 9:30 AM. Then that evening at 7:00PM enjoy the Hometown Heroes, a concert by the Navy Band Southwest, and after an amazing fireworks show!
