San Diego Real Estate Growth Ahead of the Country

san diego real estate growth ahead of countrySan Diego real estate was front page news in the Union Tribune today: San Diego home prices in June officially rose 19% from a year ago, the largest year-over-year increase in more than eight years (in fact, the largest increase we’ve seen since March 2005).  This increase also puts San Diego home price growth ahead of the national average, which was 12% when all 20 areas in the index were tallied.

Another recent Union Tribune article highlighted the rebounding real estate market in reporting that move-up buying is also on the rise in San Diego.  Families who outgrew their homes during the recession but did not have the means to get a larger, more suitable home are now making that upgrade.

What does this mean for you?  Well, if you’re thinking of selling, now would be a great time – the housing market slows in later fall and winter.  If you would like a free, no-obligation market analysis of your home, or if you’d simply like to chat about your options and what this news means for you, give Katie a call at 858-922-2226, or visit her Rancho Santa Fe Real Estate website.
